Welcome To Bold Rangers Junior Football Club

Our Football Journey

One thing that Bold Rangers Junior Football Club is proud of is its football journey which started in 2014 and continues now into 2024.

The Bold Junior football journey starts with our tots academy which is our development area which prepares the children for when the time comes for them to play football in a junior league. This stage is all about enjoying fun games but at the same time learning ball skills and how to work as part of a team. These sessions are run by our very own Uefa C qualified coach Robin Chowdhury.

These sessions run during school term-time (September to July). By the time they leave our tots academy, they are ready to play soccer matches which hopefully they will play for a very long time.

U7 – U11 age groups are known more for being the foundation phase.

Our U7 teams, consist of children mainly in Year 2 but can have some from Year 1 as long as they have had their 6th birthday.

Our U8 Teams consist mainly children in Year 3 but can have children from Year 2 playing up a year

These teams play 5 aside and are of mixed ability. At the U8s stage, players are gently taught about moving to a 7v7 pitch and the differences they will encounter.

U9-U11 training is a little different but still enjoyable. Players have extra time working on developing there skills where needed and again starting to prepare them for the next stage of their football career which includes learning about off sides, as well as playing on a 9v9 pitch.

At the foundation phase football skills are allowed to develop and flourish and mostly at each indivdual childs pace. With the full range of positions and without the pressure of published results or league tables, The teams can celebrate their achievements together.

One thing we stress to any team who join out family is to go out there and enjoy it, dont worry about the result. If you can come off that pitch knowing you really couldnt do anymore then you should know how proud we all are.

Coaches are taught to give praise for effort and attitude and to remember at the end of the day its kids football and results don't matter as long as everyone is having fun.

Winning isn’t everything as we want our players to be confident in experimenting and taking risks as they develop their skills. Resilience and social skills build over time, whatever the score-line.

From U12 – U18 is known as the youth phase where players begin to establish good communication with their team mates and by now they have an idea of what there preferred position is.

whilst still being given opportunities to really improve their skills, the club still believes in its policy of equal game time for all and when possible like to see a good rotation in starting line up and hopefully not seeing the same children starting from the substitute bench.

Results from secondary aged teams up are published in league tables. So it's important that it is still recognised within the club that we don't want indivdual players running the game because there fast and can go past 3 of 4 players at a time.

Even at this age group, winning isn’t everything – there are many other reasons why children play football and play for Bold Rangers JFC and that is because it is fun, you are getting enjoyment from still learning team skills and a really important one that friendships are still as important to our teams and all of our coaches which is reflected in the way they coach

Bold Rangers Junior Football Club in 2024

We are affiliated to the Warrington Junior Football League (WJFL) Warrington Saturday Football League (WSFL) and the Warrington Junior Girls Football League (WJGFL)

Our matches are played at various locations across St Helens.

The club at the minute is looking for a new home, were as we can bring all our teams to one location and we hope to have more news on that for the 2024/2025 Season. Our winter training program which runs from Oct to March, sees us using the local high schools 4G pitch which provides a great focal point for our activities and it is a delight and a privilege to see the children training together.

The club is also preparing to unleash a new mens open age team in 2024 which will help us with providing further football for adults over 16 and we further strengthen our FA pathways in having football from the development phase all the way through to the open age stage.

We also hope to launch some further Junior teams in 2024, so keep an eye on our website for further information.
